The Piano Forest Introduces Pianists and Trailer for Anime

The Piano Forest (Piano no Mori), the upcoming anime series about classical music, has released its first trailer and the introductions of the most important staff members of this series: the pianists.

The trailer shows protagonist Kai right before it is his turn to play in front of an audience and he greets the image of Chopin like an old friend before he starts playing the piano. Also, new members of the cast and staff have been revealed, which you can find listed at the end of this article!

Some might be curious as to who the musicians behind the beautiful piano tunes in this anime are. The production did a thorough job with the casting. Through a short video, we are introduced to the people who will play the piano for their respective characters. Five main pianists were cast as well as four junior pianists.
In charge of Sousuke Ajino’s songs is Kyohei Sorita and Shuhei Amamiya’s piano sound is provided by Ryoma Takagi. Just like the characters, the pianists are from Japan. Wei Pang, a character in the series who from China, will have pianist Niu Niu play for him. Polish character Lech Szymanowski will be represented by Szymon Nehring and the French Sophie Ormesson will have pianist Juliette Journaux play the piano, who are – you guessed it! – from Poland and France respectively. All of them have been playing the piano from a young age and are without doubt very talented. The international pianists also talk in English, so take a look at the video and listen to their thoughts about the anime. At the end of the video, you can also see Kotone Uehara, Modan Oyama, Kamura Sahara, and Ayano Baba, who are the four junior pianists who will also play the piano as the childhood versions of the characters.
